Union’s New VoLTE Wireless Network in Northwest Colorado

Union’s new wireless network is now live in Colorado. The launch adds 22 new sites, covering 8,466 square miles across Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Routt counties.

The new sites in Colorado augment builds across Union’s service area in Wyoming and Utah. This multi-year effort has resulted in VoLTE coverage across 45,000 square miles – an area larger than the state of Pennsylvania.

VoLTE, which stands for Voice over LTE, facilitates voice calls across 4G and 5G LTE networks. In addition to enhanced service in Wyoming, newer phones compatible with this technology are also better suited for seamless roaming on other networks throughout the US.

“VoLTE provides wireless service to meet the needs of today’s consumer,” says Brian Woody, Chief Customer Relations Officer for Union. “It provides crystal clear voice calls, better connectivity, and accommodates the fast transmission of large amounts of data.”
